Outland is what is remaining of the planet Draenor in modern times in the game, however Draenor is now a playable planet as of Warlords of Draenor. There are also new worlds to explore, these are Outland and Draenor. These places consists of new continents on the world of Azeroth : Northrend, Pandaria, and a few new islands that tend to specific races.
As expansions were added to the game, the world was expanded and added new places to explore. These are Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms. The game consists of two continents that make up the planet of Azeroth. World of Warcraft takes place in the universe of the Warcraft series of real-time strategy games and a continuation of the Warcraft storyline.
